When it comes to making time for mobility, most of us have admirable intentions. We show up a few minutes before class or carve out some time at home, promising ourselves that we’ll address our trouble spots and be proactive about injury prevention. But if you’re not sure what to actually do in those 10-15 minutes, you may end up getting bored or distracted and abandoning the effort all together.
Thanks to our very own Adrian Miranda, you now have access to a free online tool that will give you some guidance and ideas for how to best use your time. Together with Coach Iz and Chelsea Wheeler, Adrian developed Warm Up Rx, a mobile site that guides you through three different sets of mobility drills for the upper limbs, lower limbs, and spine. Once you select a set, a timer begins counting down and lets you know when to move on to the next exercise.
You’ll recognize most of the featured stretches and drills, as we regularly see them in our WODs. But Adrian encourages anyone with questions to ask him, Chelsea, or any of the coaches for clarification. You can do all three sets together, or focus on just one or two. As long as you’re spending a bit more time on mobility (and spending it wisely) you’re using Warm Up Rx the right way.
