Growing up as a kid right outside of Coney Island, I loved to play with my twin brother and friends. I went to a junior high school I that had a pegboard and I was the only 12 year old to do it the entire way. I enjoyed learning about gymnastics and I loved to baseball as a team sport and bowling as an individual and team sport.

After my high school baseball career ended and I did not receive any scholarships to go play at college I really wanted to remain in the world of sport and fitness and decided to follow in my fathers footsteps studying to become a public school physical education teacher. I have now been teaching for 10 years.

About 6 years ago I joined a gym and met a personal trainer who really got me into crossfit. I absolutely loved the high intensity workouts and I loved the wide range of fun movements to be learned. I began to plateau because in your typical globo gyms they dont allow you to use chalk to slam weights. They also didnt have ropes to climb or rings for MU’s so I decided to finally do crossfit at a crossfit box! My brother actually took the free class and told me about. I gave it a shot and continued to fall in love with the sport.

After about 2 years of training with Coach Iz and The Competition Team I began to study for my Level 1 certification. I love being an athlete bur being a coach is also something that just feels comfortable to me. It feels good helping people and being accountable for their success. I have been coaching at CF718 for a little over 2 years now and I truly consider it my second home, my second family. A place for adults to come and escape from reality. A place for us to play. Our playground!! Maybe you wanna wod out til you throw up or just get a good workout in and socialize while you cool down. Either way, I hope to see you at the box soon!
