My name is Lea KixMiller I am from Brooklyn and grew up playing many sports but I was primarily focused on soccer.

I played competitive soccer throughout my childhood and have my D level coaches license, I coached soccer for kids during my HS and college years. I played soccer for Clark University and had a season ending knee injury my senior year.  I had surgery and recovered but found I still had a lot of pain in my knee and never really regained enough muscle mass.  I came back to NYC after college and was working out at the gym and playing some soccer but was missing competitive sports and needed to gain back muscle mass.  My mom said I should try cross fit and I came to Cross fit 718 and quickly found that competitive edge I had been missing in my workouts, I also saw improvement in my knee function.  I have now been crossfitting for three years and have even entered some competitions.  Very soon after I started at Cross fit 718 I became interested in coaching cross fit.  First, I took the USAW Olympic Lifting coarse, then went for my Crossfit level 1 license and I also went to the Cross fit kids course.  I run an afterschool program and summer camp for middle school students here in Brooklyn and am very interested in bringing sports and cross fit to kids populations as well as to adults.  I have been coaching the basics at Cross fit 718 for the past two years and really enjoy helping other people start their cross fit experience.
