I got into crossfit around 2012/13. I had recently taken a break from rock climbing but was still trying to stay fit. I was cycling through gyms, couldn’t find one I actually liked or had a connection to. The climbing gym I went to had a great community and everyone knew each other and we hug out outside of the gym. I missed that. My boyfriend at the time was going to this Crossfit gym a lot, and loved it. So, he took me to a party at the gym, and I was so into it. I immediately felt that community feeling I was missing. I stuck with it not just for that, but also for the never-ending list of goals- handstand push ups, muscle ups, heavier snatch, etc. It doesn’t stop, and it’s always fun (even when it’s not). And that boyfriend is now my husband, and he proposed at 718, so the box will always have a special spot in my heart.
