Crossfit total, I lifted with steve this morning and the kid is an absolute beast. I failed 3 x at 275, a month ago i was able to get that so one minor step backwards, everything else went up

We got to see a little MMA grappling this morning too, that was awesome!
This was a banner day for me. Excited to see that Cahill, my long-lost 6AM brother, rocked the 345. I too got that beast up after switching my grip. Big PR day across the board: CFit Total=770.
Squat: 290 – nearly got my 300 today but missed it trying for 315.
Press: 135 – amazing how I couldn’t get that up but managed to cruise it on my third attempt. It’s all mental.
DL: 345 – Switching my grip and getting amped helped a lot.
Can’t wait for tomorrow. I love lifting heavy shit. So glad I got out of bed this morning!

Couple of notes: My time was 6:22. It was tough, I am happy with my ROM. I am not even close to the top times on this one but I will keep working at it. Back Squats are not my specialty as I told Iz the other day I never did them until I started Crossfit.

185# for that many reps and no squat rack to boot. Awesome depth. First few reps you seemed to stop short of standing straight up, but corrected with emphasis later. The KBS must have felt like a nice rest period. Great job!

I didn’t like the first 6 reps on the squat after that they were good, a lot of the videos I watched the guys stopped short of standing up. I wanted to make sure all my reps counted so I went slower. Even with shortening them up I wouldn’t have done it in 3 minutes.

I was so proud of all the people I watched today and the ones I unfortunately didn’t get to see. It is something else watching so many getting stronger and faster. I guess this stuff works…if you dedicate yourself.

I didn’t have a chance to try the total on Oct 1 but my PR’s from previous workouts were 285 (10# PR today), 150 (matched) and 345 (matched). I really would have liked to hit the 155 on the press and 350 on the dead to round out to 800 but I am happy with my numbers. Weighing in at a whopping 155# I never imagined I would do any of this.
And I need to offer a special congrats to Jose. Man it is amazing watching you lift this stuff and doing it so smooth. Proud of you brother. I still remember how you came into this place and it is so great how you have progressed.
This was my first total so technically everything is a PR!
CF TOtal = 385. Definitely room for improvement with my deadlift. Can’t wait to see what I can do in a few months!
