i loved this workout! and finally learned how to properly do a kettle bell swing (didn’t know you want to get the bell to vertical above your head). and crossfit at 6 a.m. is the best way to start the day – i am so energized, i don’t even need coffee.
19:04 @ 24KG
TGU -WIndmill 5/5 @ 12 then 16KG
Well that was a metcon!
500m row to warm up, 1:41.
Overhead Squat 3-3-3
115-125-135
Been a while for me on these, so I didn’t push it too much.
Snatch practice
Snatch from blocks 3-3-3
65-85-105
Really trying to keep the bar close to my chest, and to punch fast and pull myself under the bar. It’s coming along.
200m run + 50 DU + 250m row + 50-40-30-20-10-5 of KB swings and abmat situps:
21:00
I used the 32KG bell, wanted to go HEAVY here. Felt pretty good all things considered. That’s a heavy freaking KB. My forearms are going to be PUMPED tonight!
Great job to all the nooners, and welcome to Boris, who was visiting us from South Philly. Excellent job, man!
Coach Dan
Oh, and I did a few TGUs and windmills with the 32KG bell too. TGUs felt better than they ever have with the heavy beast, windmills were tough.
Did the wod today subbing double flutter kicks(100/80/60/40/30/20/10) for sit ups since DL’s and t2b on tues didn’t make my back very happy. Used 16kg kb and finished at 22:25.
Did windmill TGU w/ 8kg, had troubling “windmilling” with the 12kg.
Fun mid-day class as always, though I missed my noon o’clock girlfriend Ashley!
Rocked this at 19:55 (i think?) at 24kg. Feeling slow and low today.
slow and low that is the tempo. I was chasing Steve this am and finished 19:20. he finished a full minute faster than I did.
Dropped in the 10am class today since I had the day off. I was a little sluggish, but still a good WOD..
24:18 at 20kg (my first 32 reps though were at 24kg).
I hated the TGU’s today (12kg)
Great noon class. High energy and good vibe. I cannot completely remember my time, but 25 somewhere, with the first 30 with the 1 Boot, HOLY CRAPOLA. I wish I toughed it out for the first 50, but did not. Rory came in sub 20, at 19 and change (at 24KG I believe), but Aaron hit it WITH THE 1 BOOT, somewhere in the 20/21 minute camp. South Philly Boris hit around 23 I think (not sure of his weight), then Bailey, then me and Walt (“Walter” to his family) were in a race. Again, I hit 24 and change (1st 30 at 1 boot, 24kg for rest), then Walter I believe 25/26. Lotsa fun, good vibe, great weather, and coach Dan to lead us with a great workout as we head into a long weekend to either celebrate the resurrection or the Exodus, depending on which Tribe you come from.
