Thanks Pop, not too shabby yourself. In retrospect I guess I did ok. Considering only you and I did it RX’d I’m just happy to have finished. To be honest I wanted to stop after the 3rd round but kept pushing cause Coaches Jess and Tambot were killing it. Painful today, I hope tomorrow brings something more pleasant 🙂
Warm up 3x 400 meters 1:26/1:33/1:36
Snatch (not squat snatches)
warmup 35/65/85 work 95/105/115
5rft 10 snatch/15 ring rows/20 ball slams – 17:26 2 rds@105#, 3 rds@95#
First time I have ever felt good doing snatches, probably because I was not adding the squat in.
5rft 10 snatch 15 rr, 20 ball slam
23:30 @95 for 1.5 round, 85 for the rest. I felt my form starting to degrade pretty badly, so I backed the weight down.

Warm Up: 3 Rounds of Run 400m & 3min Rest- 1:53 2:00 1:55 on the runs I ddin’t rest the full 3 minutes
5RFT of 10 Snatch #95 /15 Ring Rows/ 20 Ball Slams (20/15)
I used 95# and I was dissapointed that I didn’t go higher. I think I could have done it as RXed but while warming up i talked myself out of it as there were a lot of reps to be done
in the 3/3/3 snatch I did 95/115/135 and failed on the 3rd snatch with 135 so it made sense to adjust it. . I feel like I am about 90 years old right now, everything is tight as a drum.
Warm Up – 100 Jumping Jacks. 2 Rounds of: 3 TGU w 2 – 8kg KB / 3 Man Makers (8kg) KB
400m Runs- 1:18 / 1:26 / 1:16 – 2 min rest
5 RFT of : 10 Snatch @ 75 / 15 Ring Row / 20 Ball Slam = 30:29
Really Started to get the hang of the Snatch Movement around the 4th and 5th round. Even though I was totally exhausted, I was able to do 5 in a row feeling really strong. Thought I could get a faster time here. I should stop resting so much 🙂
Couldn’t piece together all the parts to successfully perform a proper snatch. Probably did 2 or 3 perfect to near perfect ones. Did 2 rounds @ 65 and the rest @ 55. No increase in weight from the last time I did them, whereas with other moves I’ve noticed an increase in strength. Again, I’m like a clydesdale, not Winn Dixie. Damn those fast twitch muscles!

Well, I tried this WOD and it was a disaster… literally (; Was in my 7th rep RX’d and dropped the snatch. The bar hit the ring, and the ring flew up into the overhead light. The light smashed into a million pieces and rained down on me.
I have to admit I lost my focus. This was a DNF (did not finish). Only my second DNF at 718 ever.
Did some heavy lifting after coaching the brutal WOD with the nooners. You guys put in a lot of heart in that one. Great job Ben for tackling a doozy (OFFICIAL TERM) on your first class.
that is some funny stuff. I saw that happening as I was warming up and i moved back toward the sparring maps glad you didn’t get crushed. nothing like a little flourescent bulb dust to get your day started
Kurt – I believe the official term was MF’ing Doozy.
My legs are still shaking some 3 hours later. It is rare for a WOD to make me want to quit BEFORE I start. My goal for this was not time as much as trying to perform the moves well. Snatches are my weakest movement and my PR is only 125 so doing this Rx’ed was a major challenge for me. I was a little slow on the snatches and then tried to make up for that on the rows and balls slams. When all was said and done my time was 27:21. Thanks to those that were pushing me along…much appreciated.
And my warm up 400m sprints were 1:21, 1:19, 1:22.
Another great Monday at the box!
Thanks to Tammy and Iz for WODing with me this morning.
