And here is something from a site that is not as awesome as Build Big Triceps Website, but has very helpful little exercises for you to do: http://www.hughston.com/hha/a.seven.htm
Isabel @ 115# = 9:51. Not happy about this. Just couldn’t string the reps together, but felt tight when I set myself up and focused on a good pull. Next time, Isabel, next time.
Power Clean: 165×2, 165×2, 165×2, 185(f) – just got excited – 175×2, 175×1, 165×2
Fun day lifting. Gravity felt light on the power cleans. I had to clear the air 30 reps on the snatch before I found the sweet spot.

Beyond the whiteboard is your best source for avg times for all the wods. A lot of boxes are using it as part of their website. My virtual box is similar but bot as nice.
Snatches have always been one of my goats. Especially squat snatches. I just recently PR’ed at 70.. I was dialing in on the depth of my Squats today, I felt real strong today.
500M Row=1:43.4
Isabel (scaled to 115lbs)=5:15 (should have rx’d it)
Power Clean-2×7 @ 80%1RM=WU-3@45/95 WS-2@160/160/160/160/160/160/160
Great Job Today everyone! Special shout to Cory and Jose for staying late to coach me 🙂

Anyone else running the rock n roll 10k this weekend in prospect park? I think coach dan is signed up and Cahill too but he has childcare issues that morning. Wod’g Friday and I hope my legs get smoked so my pr on Saturday feels all the more satisfying.

Awesome Snatch Bar Path video of two excellent lifters. Some things to watch:
1) The second pull of the snatch seems to be pulled at the high thigh position. Right at the bottom of where your pockets would be.
2) The bar path comes up and towards the body before being propelled slightly forward during the second pull. Pulling yourself under the bar brings the bar back. Pushing the bar out too infront of you during the second pull = failed rep. – Watch the bar path of the lifter on the right when the bar path is drawn. During the second pull the bar comes out in front too far and he can not get underneath. This is because, I think, of his style of lifting. It is ‘jumpy’. He ‘mule kicks’ his feet as he gets under the bar and this causes him to sometimes push the bar forward and miss the lift. This can also be cause be pulling the bar too soon. If you pull the bar too soon during the second pull, the bar will be too far in front.

Isabel @ 115# – 8:15….failed on 2 of my first 4 tries and 3 more at the end…that sucked having to make those up. Could have shaved a full minute off the time if I had just held strong coming out of the squat. B*#ch!!
Power Clean @ 80% – 2 reps x 9 rds @ 160 lbs. Did a few extra rounds while everyone was finishing up.
Fun time again tonight. Too many laughs. And Coach way to slap Isabel around the box – impressive.
So a couple of quick observations: the white lifter appears to have a more vertical bar path but seems to come forward on his jumps a little. The black lifter does have a very high donkey kick which causes him to jump backward under the load. The white lifter seems a little slower getting under and catches it over head stabilizes the bar then stands up. The black lifter is a bit faster getting under the bar. He missed that first lift because of his excessive layback and trying to stand too fast. The white lifter controlled the bar in the first lift but seemed to cactus a little on the one that he missed. Finally the black lifters aggressiveness paid off on his second lift. He was able to use the elastic response from his glute/hamstrings to bounce out of the bottom. Both of them are studs and could lift circles around me 🙂 When I grow up I want to be just like these guys. Nice vid KRod.
I didn’t have a chance to get to the box this am so I hit this at the YMCA, a god awful place to lift.
I could have used some coaching too as I know I wasn’t getting deep enough into the squats while getting the bar overhead. I scaled it down to 115 as 135 was simply too much for 30 reps. If Tom was there he would have no repped me at least 5 times so my time will not be official but I am happy i got the work done anyway.
Isable scaled to 115# 6:20
power cleans 2 reps x7 – 135 warm up and worked at 165. these felt great.
Warm-up: 500m row @ 26 spm (75%) => 2:39
Snatch Warm-up: 5×15, 3×35, 1×45, 3×40
Isabel: 4:37 @ 35#
Power Cleans: 2×35, 2×50, 2×60, 2×70, 2×70, 2×70, 2×70
Just couldn’t get power on the Snatches this morning. Was it lack of sleep? Was it pregnancy? Was it that I didn’t want to hurt myself?
Heart rate felt good.
Warmup: 500m row – 2:23
Isabel @55lbs – 7:25
PC – 65/85/85/85/85/85/85
Upset about missing mobility class tomorrow 🙁
