Take time to reflect on 2013 and start your resolutions today!!
If you have it in you, post your resolutions to comments and I will be sure to help hold you accountable totally free of charge 🙂
I don’t normally make New Years Resolutions, but for some reason I’ve decided to make some this year. Here are a few of my 2014 Resolutions
1. Clean eating. I have been gluten free for about 2 years and Paleo for about 1 1/2 with very few deviations (even though it doesn’t look like it). This December I loosened the reigns a little and all it got me was an insatiable addiction to peanut M&Ms and breakouts like a teenage girl. Time to get back on the wagon.
2. 30 Day challenges. Mel and I started a 30-Day Squat and Pull-up Challenge on 12/23. It’s been fun to do together and they are short enough to fit into Mel’s crazy schedule, so we will cycle through different ones for 2014. The next one starts 1/27 and will probably involve planks.
3. Read more. I love to read, but only seem to do it when I am on vacation or stuck on an airplane. My goal is at least one new book per month and less wasting time on Facebook. January starts with Your Personal Paleo Code by Chris Kresser since it just came in the mail.
4. Take more advantage of living in NYC. My mom just came to visit and we took her on the NYC Holiday Lights tour. It’s fun to play tourist every now and then, so I will plan more tours and events for us. Maybe one new thing every other month.
Happy New Year!
Good stuff Jennifer!
I like the 30 day challenges…I’d like to do another whole 30 because I have fallen off track lately too. I’m okay with that but it would be good to test my willpower to make sure she’s still there!
More Crossfit 718 outings this year..or at least for post WOD meet ups for drinks (seltzer included) and chats!
I was just looking a the whole30 stuff online/thinking of giving myself a challenge.
And I echo your statement of more 718 outings 🙂
Keep coming to 718!! Hang out more with all the awesome people here!
I’m the master of creating tons of resolutions – some work out better than others.
A few of the more wellness/fitness related ones..
– cut out (be mindful of) processed foods
– cook more often and try new recipes
– climb the rope
– unbroken double unders
– get better at running
Wow. I’ve had so much fun at 718 the past four months, I can’t wait to see how much I can get done in a year with all of you! I’m looking forward to it.
These are the main things I’m going for in 2014
– unbroken double unders
– get a fluid kip
– beat 300lb deadlift
– MOBILIZE more!
– Cook paleo more. I’ve been finding really simple and fast recipes and some amazing slow cooker stuff.
– travel to do an endurance thing. I’m looking at the Scotland Tough Mudder and Colorado location as well.
A. Become a supple Leopard – measured and proved by range of motion.
B. Find a way to support myself long term in Mexico – measured by my ability to keep a roof over my head, food in my mouth and Crossfit in my muscles
C. Take a risk everyday – crush fear
D. Become a better athlete and person – stay positive, serve others, work hard
E. Look to the best in others and be sensible –
“Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle” Plato
“Trust in God, but tie your camel” Arab proverb
F. Muscle ups! Bar and ring. 185lb OHS with full depth. 135lb snatch. 225lb squat clean and jerk
