Kettle bell yell 26:14 20 kg KB for first round, then scaled it back for the snatches on the balance of the rounds down to 16 KG. My grip and callouses all gone. I liked this workout today nice programming coach.
Tuesday was Angie
Wednesday I was sore
Thursday I was very sore
Friday I’ve never been so sore in my life
I don’t think I strained anything but I can move my arms less and less each day.
Particularly biceps and lats.
Wah!
Does this sound normal?
Tuesday was your first Angie… rx’d? I couldn’t wash my hair or move my arms above my head the first time.
If your pee ain’t the color of coca cola, you are probably ok. You need to fully stretch our your muscles. Check out Mobility WOD for ideas: http://www.mobilitywod.com/
Rory I was so sore too!!! My hair went unwashed for a couple days ( Shhhh don’t tell) because it hurt too much to raise the arms. Not to mention hot water on an open wound isn’t too fun. I used the lacrosse ball for a good 45 minutes, and took a hot bath. Works like a charm!
Oh and make sure you’re hydrating!
Bikram yoga helps!
Thanks guys I’ll try all that stuff.
Good to know it’s not just me
This has been a special kind of pain.
Rory, you are not alone. It will go away eventually. My arms are still hurting as well.
I find the most tender part to be near the elbow on the inside at the top of the forearm and bottom of the bicep. I always get this after high rep butterfly pullups. It is probably from the shock and reabsorption of 185lbs by the ligaments. I am not a doctor just my theory. Kurt any articles on this ?
Tom,
Mild Golfer’s Elbow…
Here is some information from the Mayo’s Clinic: http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/golfers-elbow/DS00713
To the ladies of CF718… i will miss you tonight.
xox JessP
Jess and Chrystie – we will miss you tonight!
Good day.
Rehab stuff first.
Box squats 5×3 @ 185#, felt pretty good.
CF Football WOD:
Every 30 seconds for 8 minutes:
1 power clean, I did 135#
5 ball slams @ 40#.
We only have 20# balls, so I did 7 slams per round at 20#. Loved this WOD.
Kettlebell hell:
I used a 16kg bell throughout, and I’m glad I did. Went unbroken each round, resting a few seconds between rounds. Did it in 17:45. Kudos to anyone that can go faster, I don’t know how physically I could have cut much time off of that. I video’d my first round, will post it soon.

She’s 4 months old and totally nuts. I’m pretty sure she has a higher vertical leap than me at this point.
So where’s the certification for crossfit puppies?
She’s awesome!! Can’t wait to meet her!
Appa wants to meet her!!!!

Good having you @ ladies night 🙂
Thanks! It was totally fun to be there. I plan to make it a habit. 😀
Warm-up: 3:00 min row => 631 m
Kettlebell Hell => 20:07
I used 12kg (27 lbs) on the two-handers and 8kg (18 lbs) on the one-handers.
(21 weeks + 3 days!)
P.S. I was ABSOLUTELY IMPRESSED by everyone who did the Cash Out! You’re all rockstars!
F@ck! Had to type this twice cause it did not post the first time.
3 min Double Unders=180 (was off today:(
5Rft of: 20 2 arm KBS/10ea 1 arm KBS/20 2 arm KB High Pull/10 ea 1 hand KB High Pull/10 ea KB Snatch@16kg=15:55 (all rounds unbroken without rest)
Dan it was possible to go fast at this lighter weight but required discipline to resist the urge to set the kettlbell down for the entire duration. No chalk no rips no water no rest= nausea
Fun wod I would like to do it again at 20kg just to measure the difference in my times.
Rested 10 minutes then:
Bench Press (getting ready for Strong Man Cert in January)- WU 10@45 WS-5@105/4@130/3@150/2&170/1@190(90%1rm)
5/4/3/2/1@145(body weight) Focused on speed out of the bottom, rested 1 minute between sets.
Shoulder Press- 1@95/105/120
Push Press- 1@135/145/155
Push Jerk- 1@165/175
Ring Row-10/10/10/10/10 NFT
lighter weight???? why was girls RX @16 then??? LOL
It was not RX’d just suggested. I had never done this WOD prior to today Also it was an experiment of sorts, Dan and I were trying to decide whether or not this could be done fast with a lighter weight(long story). Lol
I would have def finished it faster with lighter weight…
Damn. Nice time. So that’s basically the fastest you could do it then, at that point even a lighter KB would still take about as long. It would be interesting to see the difference in time for both 20 and 24kg.
Good luck to you on the Strong Man cert, I don’t know what it is but I’m sure you’ll get it bc if you can do that WOD unbroken, at that time, with no rest, and then do all of those exercises afterwards… You are a seriously STRONG MAN!!!!
KB Whoa WOD: 2 hand movements @ 12kg and 1 hand movements @ 8kg…. I would like to have done 12kg for everything but my body just isn’t ready yet. 21 min 21 seconds
Pass out, oh I mean Cash out =) 3min AMRAP GI Geoorge as in Curious George… I attempted to do GI Janes but I can’t do a pull up with a box so well… So it was more like a burpee jump shrug and swing.
Thanks Coach Tammyli for your encouragement, presence, and for keeping aware of my form during the workout. So happy your back, hip hip hooray!!!!!! Thanks Coach Iz for rooting for all of us even when your working with a client… Your always so thoughtful =)
