whew! Those push presses are not an easy task. I got 6 rounds + 13 box jumps. I definitely could have finished 7 rounds but wasn’t feeling quite 100% this morning. Proud of the score though, was definitely a lot of work. Thanks morning crew for the encouragement!
Great time to beat, as usual!! Way to go on this. The presses are going to be tough for me, no doubt. It’s strangely close to my 1RM. But thats whats so cool about the open – I keep surprising myself! Even if it’s just by 1 rep. Thanks for motivating me Jess 🙂
I feel like quitting the Opens, I don’t know what I was thinking when I signed up for this. I am gonna suck so ba at this WOD. Never gonna make it I the regionals with my scores.
TAMMY, SNAP OUT OF THIS FUNK!!!!! You did not sign up for this open to go to the regionals, you signed up to have fun and have a little competition within our box. This is where you see your streghts and weaknesses and work on your weaknesses after this Open is over. Beating yourself up about some low scores won’t get you anywhere and also remember that you just started going hard core at crossfit not even a year ago, give yourself a break!!!!
Ceer up, I believe in you and if you put your mind to something you will succeed and crush it!!!!!!! <3
Tammy we don’t sign up for the open to make it anywhere- we sign up to improve ourselves. DID YOU SEE HOW MANY PEOPLE PRed LAST WEEK WITH 12.2 SNATCH LADDERS?????? Did you see how giddy and elated and PROUD everyone was of themselves and each other? THAT is what the Open is all about – everyone pushed themselves more then they ever would on their own, digged deeper then ever before. So what if you only got 31 reps ( which you DIDN’T !!!! you rocked it) but that 1 rep is a PR and that alone is a commendable feat. A PR is doing better than you ever did before. The camaraderie and enthusiasm and support we witnessed last Friday was overwhelming and i am so proud of our entire box – whether you did the WOD or just supported. I am doing the open to experience THAT. So push yourself, see what you’re made of and be better than you were yesterday. After all that’s what CROSSFIT is about. Not the leaderboard!!!!
Hey, first of all, forget the regionals, seriously. I was just telling someone at the gym the other day how impressed I am with you. I honestly remember when I started Crossfit when you opened the box thinking you were cute, a ton of fun, and someone who put her heart into the WODS but definitely not a hardcore athlete. I remember Iz getting mad because you were giggling a lot. HAHA In less than 18 months you’re a certified coach, competing in the Open, and most definitely a hard core athlete. Give yourself a break woman. This is supposed to be a good time 🙂
You’re doing amazing. It wouldn’t be fun if it was easy, right? Plus then you’d never be ready for the zombie apocalypse either. THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A MINUTE, haha
Ms. Tammyli I completely admire your courage to do the Opens. To me all it means is dedication. Your in the box everyday… You give it your all every WOD and that’s nothing to concerned about… You do so much everyday and to get the scores after all that I’d be very proud… I got matching sneakers because I honestly hope one day that I can be strong like you. Also, your on point with your technique and form! They don’t call you the TamBot for nothin!
Whoo hooo this is a tough one!
1 bloody and swollen shin(before the wod even started!), 7 or 8 no reps, a plethora of swear words, a few thrown bars and 2 or 3 watery tears later I got 4 rds+15+6. Frustrated b/c I definitely feel like I could have done better, I got pissed off early on in the wod and had trouble snapping out of it. I was not mentally in it 100% today and it showed in my performance. Pumped to ice, aleve, mobilize, sleep and re-do it on Sunday in Albany! Good luck to everyone doing this one this weekend!
Just gotta throw in that I love my coaches, all of you, always so encouraging and supportive 🙂
there’s definitely a love/hate thing going on with these types of wods, I agree 🙂 Esp if you finish knowing there’s no possible way you could have worked any harder, pretty awesome feeling!
Damn I hate I missed this performance! I had an intense run in with a box jump a few months ago that left me a sweet battle wound on my shin. Welcome to the club. Great work Bailey. At some point in life we will WOD together 🙂
Haha Bailey and I were just disscussing that today how youu guys never met! We need to arrange that soon! Maybe wod 12.5 on sat when we all do it together?
I WANT TO BE THERE but I coach soccer on Saturdays. I gotta pay the bills. I usually finish by 12:30 so I can meet you guys at like 1 that day. food? booze?
Good Luck today!!

The freaking push press/jerk! They got heavy fast those mofo’s!

I’m a little funny, but a love wods like that. Any wod that can break me has my respect.

Some really good info here:

Slay that chupacabra!
Also, check out the videos people have posted about efficiency in T2B. I was doing lots of stupid stuff. Can’t wait to hit this tonight.
So I couldn’t help myself. I showed up to do a preggie-version of WOD 12.3.
My warm-up was 3 minutes of baby burpees (which are jumping air squats and a wall push-up) and about 10 or 15 pull-ups with the green band.
I modified the WOD this way…
1. 15″ box steps instead of 20″ box jumps
2. 45# instead of 75#
3. standing “front kicks” instead of toes-to-bar
=> 7 rounds + 15 box steps + 9 push press
(35 weeks + 3 days)
…for a total of 276. Not that it counts for anything! 😉
Obviously it counts!!! Yay for mini bean 🙂 good job Gillie
It counts for me and Mini-bean, yes. Thanks Marina! 🙂
you are my freaking hero, seriously. I hope you’re taking pictures and or video of all of this so you can show that baby what a badass their mom is!
I have some photos here: http://clubfritch.wordpress.com
I only have one video, of me doing grace many months ago. Perhaps I should get one more video before the babe comes. Good idea!
Thanks!! 😀
Well done!
Thanks Nikki! 🙂
Noon Class Debriefer:
Gillian: 7 rounds + 15 box steps + 9 push press
Mike B: 5 rounds + 6 box jumps (near barf on final toe-to-bars)
Aaron (with nothing but heart and soul): 7 rounds + 12 box jumps.
– Aaron literally FELL OVER trying to get to 15 box jumps on the last round. I mean, collapsed.
– Gillian looked like a tai kickboxer with a belly
– Batistick did NOT sustain massive head wounds while doing toes to bars.
– Coach Dan had us going balls to the wall.
GREAT CLASS. Go Get Em Tonight 718!
No head wound is always a good T2B.
Mike, you were a total rock star doing this WOD! So focused and determined and you looked STRONG! It was motivating!!
P.S. I almost jumped up to get the bark bucket for you on that last round but I thought it’d be more motivating to keep cheering. 😉
Ahem, *barf. Not bark.
That is a great recap of the class. Everybody went all and and had a blast. good luck to the rest of you this weekend.
4rds for me + 15 box jumps + 12 push press. Had a really hard time putting together more than 1 t2b in a row, but pretty happy with this anyway!
